Science meets Dharma

Daniel I have already heard in Dharamsala about this project. Some Swiss guys (Ulysses and Heinrich) live here in Sera and teach Science to Tibentan Monks. This project evolved during the past three years into a real lab, covering physics and chemistry and they\'re even planing to extend it to arts, law and economics!

And as you can tell from the pictures, the monks love it.

The monks can join the classes for free and give regular feedback to the teachers.

But Ulysses told me that one benefit the Swiss government hopes to get by funding this project, is knowledge transfer from Sera to Swizerland. Yeah, you read right. They fund it not to teach the monks, but to learn from the monks. As soon as their Swiss teachers move back to Swizerland, the'll spread the word about the people here.

My reason for coming here was much simpler. I just wanted to see, how they teach physics to people who were hardly exposed to this subject before. And they do a good job.
